The Greater Everglades Community Food Summit

July 12-13 at Miami Dade College, brought together educators, food activists, community organizers, students, planners, policymakers, and farmers to initiate the creation of a planning network dedicated to developing the social and physical infrastructure that would make Miami-Dade a more sustainable urban region. The conference focused on way to re-envision the socio-ecology of the greater Miami-Dade urban area by focusing on the regional foodshed. Director of ULTRA-EX, Dr. Gail Hollander, took part in this conference.
